Go Passionatley Serve (GPS) Purpose Statement:

The central purpose of the GPS group is to come together around missions in order to experience life to the fullest by loving and serving others. The GPS group has as its purpose a threefold mission.

First we seek to engage and involve UNCW students in mission activities both locally and globally. This will include several weekly "give your life away" activities such as feeding the homeless in downtown Wilmington, tutoring refugee children recently transplanted to the Wilmington community and participating in other local mission projects throughout the area. We will also serve others globally by organizing semi-annual home and foreign mission trips. Such examples may include mission trips to Guatemala where we will build houses for the needy, to Belize where we will help build a school for a local community and to Haiti where we will help construct an orphanage.

Our second purpose of the GPS group is to provide opportunities for fellowship and community. Sharing meals together on campus as well as a variety of recreational activities such as kayaking, camping and volleyball will build a community spirit.

Our third purpose is to encourage spiritual growth and passion in each member's walk with Jesus Christ. This third purpose will be accomplished by providing weekly Bible study and worship experiences.
